Scorpions

Scorpion stitches usually aren't fatal for adults, however, they are certainly very painful. The small creatures can be found in the hot areas of Australia and - since they love the heat - they like to hole up themselves at warm places, just like snakes. Therefore in the morning after camping you should control your shoes, etc. before sliping into them. Maybe they are used by someone else already.

Once we had a scorpion as visitor in our tent, but it was a quite peaceful one.
